His pictures served as covers and illustrations for many publications in the Netherlands Antilles and Europe.
In 1989 he held his first exposition at the World Trade Center Curaçao.

In 1995 part of his work was published in 'In dit licht' (In this light), accompanied by beautiful Dutch copy by Boeli van Leeuwen.

In 1996 he published 'Curaçao'; a collection of breathtaking shots.

From January 21 till February 10, 2002, he held his second exposition at the Villa Maria Museum in Curaçao. In this exposition he combined analog and digital technology by scanning his negatives and printing them digitally on canvas.

Carlos is constantly studying things that surround, which he analyzes with a critical eye. The beauty of the people, nature and architecture, but also real life situations of his beloved native island inspire his work. He records the subtlest nuances of light and color but also loves to make black & white photos, primarily of people. He possesses an extra ordinary talent to see beauty in the simplest objects or sceneries which he portraits with a great sense of imagination.
